This week, a local family in Grand Rapids — familiar faces within our café community — experienced the detention of a parent by ICE. Eden Café chose to stay open and respond with food, care, and consistency, providing meals and grocery support to help meet immediate needs.

A winter snowstorm canceled a catering event, but the coffee was already prepared. This behind-the-scenes story follows how a community-focused coffee shop worked through what came next and made sure the coffee didn’t go to waste.
